Snow-capped Eastern Sierra reflection on fabric wall art – Rock Creek Canyon’s Little Lakes Valley

snow capped mountains reflection in alpine lake

My studio wall is feeling a bit blank without this Little Lake Reflections fabric pano on it! It is in the current gallery show at Mono Arts Council in Mammoth Lakes, California, “So Many Lakes, So Little Time”. I love looking at this wallhanging and remembering my hike in Rock Creek Canyon out of Mosquito Flats that summer evening I shot that photograph. The lighting kept getting better and better and we kept hiking farther and farther into the lush valleys. The stillness at the edge of this lake gave me the mirror-like reflection of the snow-capped mountains and forest. It also brought out swarms of hungry mosquitos! It was worth it, though, to experience this gorgeous scene in the great outdoors and capture this Eastern Sierra gem to share with you.

Do you have a wall that needs a touch of the Eastern Sierra? If so, this 52” x 22” textile print is available at Mono Arts Council through August, ready to hang. Stop in the gallery from noon- 5pm daily, except Tuesdays or give them a call to arrange other options.
